Ingredientes
Preparação:
8 fatias com 2 cm de espessura de pão de cacete ou pão de forma com 3 dias
600 ml de leite
3 casquinhas de limão
1 pau de canela
3 colheres de sopa bem cheias de açúcar ou mel
3 ovos batidos
Açúcar q.b.
Canela em pó q.b.
Óleo de girassol para fritar
1. Num tachinho, leve ao lume metade do leite, as casquinhas de limão, o pau de canela e as 3 colheres de sopa de açúcar.
Mexa e deixe aquecer durante 10 minutos em lume brando.
2. Passado os 10 minutos, retire o pau de canela e as casquinhas de limão.
Apague o lume e misture o restante leite frio.
Deixe arrefecer até que fique morno.
3. Regue as fatias de pão com o leite e vire-as.
Deixe repousar durante 5 minutos para que fiquem bem embebidas.
4. Passe bem as fatias de pão pelo ovo batido.
Frite-as em óleo quente.
Logo que coloque o pão a fritar, reduze o lume para médio.
A meio da fritura, vire as rabanadas para que fiquem douradas por igual.
5. Depois das rabanadas fritas, retire-as para um prato com papel absorvente.
Passe as rabanadas pela mistura do açúcar e da canela.
E estão prontas a servir.

With Christmas on the way ...
And as we're almost at Christmas, I've been trying to make French toasts for the first time. This Christmas my Parents-in-law are coming to visit us and we must be prepared :). I shared my French toasts with my friends and they liked it or they deceived me: p. My kitchen was a mess and full of oil splashes. This recipe requires preparation through the day, as we have to let the milk cool down and then let the bread soak for a while before moving into the egg / fry. For my French Toast I used sugar but some people use honey and add Port wine (We don't like it!). Here is my experience, I hope you enjoy ...
Ingredients
8 slices with 2 cm of thickness of baguette bread or Loaf bread with 3 days
600ml of milk
3 lemon peels
1 cinnamon stick
3 tablespoons very full of sugar or honey
3 eggs, beaten
Sugar q.b.
Cinnamon q.b.
Sunflower oil for frying
1. In a Saucepan, let it boil half the milk, with the lemon peels, the cinnamon stick and the 3 tablespoons of sugar.
Stir and let it warm up for 10 minutes in lower heat.
2. After 10 minutes, remove the cinnamon stick and the lemon peels.
Turn off the heat and mix the remaining cold milk.
Let it cool until it is medium warm.
3. Drizzle the bread slices with the milk and turn it over.
Let it stand for 5 minutes so they stay well soaked.
4. Pass the bread slices in the beaten egg.
Fry them in hot oil.
Once you put the bread frying reduce the heat to medium.
At half the time frying, turn the French toast so they stay evenly golden.
5. When they're fried, remove them to a plate with paper towels.
Pass the French toasts with a mixer of sugar and cinnamon.
And are ready to serve.
